K.V. Abdul Nazar, the visionary Chairman and Managing Director of the Akbar Group of Companies, is a pioneering entrepreneur whose legacy spans multiple industries. Born in the coastal town of Ponnani, Kerala, he began his journey in the tourism sector in the 1970s. In 1978, recognizing the growing demand for Gulf travel, he established Akbar Travels of India in Mumbai. Today, Akbar Travels stands as one of India’s leading travel agencies. Under his dynamic leadership, the Akbar Group expanded its footprint across industries including travel, hospitality, healthcare, and Ayurvedic wellness. The group has established a strong international presence, operating in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Oman, and beyond.
